You know that we highly value the insurtechs we had on stage. Of course that also includes the insurtechs that are part of the line up of the next DIA Amsterdam edition, on 25-27 June. Take a look at the latest updates and get a sneak peek of what to expect!

Now your car can call an ambulance for you thanks to MDGo
New technology from Israel’s national EMS service and tech startup MDGo automatically notifies dispatchers of car accidents requiring an ambulance. Beginning in February 2019, late-model cars involved in crashes in Israel have started to call for ambulances autonomously, reporting the exact location as well as the specifics of any injuries. In tests conducted with about 250,000 vehicles in Israel since June 2018, the MDGo system was 100 percent accurate in reporting car accidents and 92% accurate in projecting the injuries sustained compared to field assessments made by MDA emergency medical technicians arriving on the scene.

Turning data into drops: How DataRobot’s technology helps developing nations access water
From the outset, the team at Global Water Challenge knew that analysing data from water pumps could be used to help provide the vital resource in areas where access was scarce. The issue for Brian Banks, director of strategic initiatives at the campaigning group Global Water Challenge, was that he didn’t know how. Thanks to DataRobot’s technology, they obtained the skills to upload information “on the fly” and select the solution the model needed to solve and “click start”.

SWORD Health: AI-Powered Physical Therapy Shown to Beat Traditional Physical Therapy
Some promising study results showing the power of technology in health! Recovery from knee injuries is faster and longer lasting with a unique remote physical therapy approach than with traditional physical therapy, two scientific studies show. The Digital Therapist, developed by tech-enabled physical therapy provider SWORD Health, was twice as strong in recovering patients than traditional patient-to-therapist intervention all the while presenting durable effects. SWORD Health, which has digital therapists delivering physical therapy to patients at home while human clinical teams remotely supervise the recovery process, proved their approach was effective in both studies, outperforming traditional physical therapy in recovery time, but also in treatment engagement and quality of life parameters.

Norway’s biggest bank automated 51% of its online chat traffic with Boost.ai
There is just so much that insurance carriers can learn from their colleagues in the banking sector. DNB turned to boost.ai to manage the high volume of chat traffic to its customer center, developing a digital banking advisor that successfully automated half of all online chat interactions in just four months. They needed a way to free up staff from repetitive work while continuing to provide their customers with always-available, 24/7 support. DNB worked with boost.ai to help develop and launch Aino, an advanced digital banking advisor - powered by conversational AI - with capabilities far superior to those of a typical chatbot.
Excited to see them on stage at DIA Amsterdam 25-27 June!
