CBien: the unique digital asset manager
French insurtech startup CBien provides a digital platform that allows users to manage, value, and protect their belongings in a single app. The company’s algorithm determines the value of the items, which can then be managed or insured. Besides the securing of all beloved products and referencing information/data, CBien estimates the specific market value in real-time. This is the baseline to do a lot more like insure, sell, share, rent… and all with just one-click!
Meant to simplify the process of filing a claim after an incident, CBien helps to secure, estimate and manage personal belongings from the minute it is added to the digital inventory. Whether it is a smartphone or a sofa, books, bicycles and laptops, users can register anything they own or just their favorite items in just one click. CBien is supported by a digital platform which allows individuals to make a free inventory of their possessions to better understand the true value of each asset and to help them manage their belongings throughout their lifetime. This can be reselling an object, renting it, facilitating the move, handling incidents and associated claims. Anything that makes everyday life easier!
In 2016, CBien started three partnerships with major French insurers: MAIF, MACIF and MATMUT. Next year, it foresees the development of new insurance partnerships in France as well as in Germany, Zwitserland and the United Kingdom. CBien also won the InsurTech Award from the Insurance Argus in 2016 and the Innovation Digital Award from IT Night in 2017. In 2017, they joined the famous InsurTech Startupbootcamp in London.

To Estimate: CBien has developed a unique algorithm to estimate the market value of any asset in real time. By knowing the value of the property, users can ensure that all possessions are appropriately covered in case of an incident.
To manage: with CBien, users can re-sell, rent, share properties in just a few clicks. Everything is centralized to easily manage belongings. Users do not need to spend hours searching anymore. And they can also insure or file a claim – for a single item or your inventory as a whole. It is free and if your home insurance provider is a partner, you get a premium version.

Who is CBien?
Created in December 2013 by David Gascoin and Pierre Delage and is located in Paris, Nantes and Hamburg.
In May, 2017 the startup has raised €8 million in a second funding round from its existing shareholders MAIF, MACIF and 5M Ventures. This second fundraising round confirmed the investors’ confidence. The funds are used to finance CBien’s visibility in France, the international expansion, the refinement of key insurance offerings and processes, on demand insurance, claims management and the development of new technologies for asset referencing and management.
