Ping An Tech Now Promotes CareVoice SaaS for Health Insurance Players Across Greater China
DIA alumni The CareVoice announced that Ping An Tech Now has started distributing The CareVoice SaaS (software-as-a-service) nationwide to banks and insurance companies. Ping An Technology helps The Carevoice to strengthen its distribution in key cities of Mainland China and Hong Kong, as well as combine it with its own in-house technologies, all of them being hosted in Ping An Cloud. As the insurance and finance industries face the urging need for digitalization, The CareVoice addresses the yet unsolved issue of providing a customer-centric healthcare and insurance journey for Chinese customers.

DIA alumnus ELEMENT and INTEC are developing insurance solutions for second-hand car dealers
ELEMENT, the white-label product factory for insurance, and INTEC are setting up a strategic partnership. INTEC AG has been a leading expert in product and market guarantees for second-hand cars for over 40 years. The two companies are jointly developing insurance solutions for second-hand car dealers, offered through the service platform ‘Carbee’ of INTEC. The first insurance is now available, insuring dealers should certain parts of a vehicle cease to function within the warranty period. This means that if dealers give their customers a warranty, the resulting financial risk is significantly lower for them.

dacadoo GO and Daman Health partner for Daman Tamshi to attain ‘One billion special steps’
How do one billion steps and an innovative solution help a community? dacadoo GO, the location-based walking app created by leading Swiss-based global digital health engagement platform dacadoo, announced its collaboration with Daman Health Insurance in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Together, dacadoo and Daman Health offer a new location-based walking game to encourage walking for a good cause in the United Arab Emirates. The game, Daman Tamshi, aims to challenge the population of the UAE to reach a target of one billion steps as a community in four weeks. When the target is reached, Daman Health will donate 500,000 Dirhams towards the Special Olympics of United Arab Emirates.

BMW, Porsche, Jaguar Land Rover Invest $21M in Urgent.ly’s Fast Growing Mobility and Roadside Assistance Services
Global automotive and new mobility companies are increasingly designing and marketing more transportation options with varying tasks, sizes and complexity. This level of innovation will render traditional roadside assistance obsolete, evolving into mobility assistance that can service today’s vehicles as well as fleets of the future that will include electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, micro-mobility vehicles, drones, robotic delivery and more.
BMW Group has also recently selected Urgent.ly to work together with the BMW ConnectedDrive Customer Interaction Center (BMW Assist) as the vendor partner to provide roadside assistance and extended mobility services to owners of all four of its brands in the U.S.: BMW, BMW Motorrad, MINI and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Wefox secures $125 million in financing
Wefox, one of Europe’s fastest-growing insurance technology firms, has secured $125 million in financing to expand across the region and help its customers harness “big data”. The money came from Abu Dhabi’s state investor Mubadala Investment Company, Goldman Sachs and China’s Creditease as well as existing investors AngelList, Horizons Ventures, Idinvest Partners, Seedcamp, Speedinvest and Target Global, according to a statement from Idinvest. Wefox operates digital platforms that connect insurers, brokers and consumers, allowing them to buy insurance, change policies and settle claims quickly online.

Squirro Launches new Application to Enhance GDPR Compliance and Manage Risk
Need some help navigating the GDPR compliance? Augmented intelligence solutions provider Squirro, has launched a new application that enhances GDPR compliance, the European Union (EU) data legislation that came into law in May 2018. Squirro GDPR Application deploys Squirro’s cognitive search functionality to locate any and all data that needs to be GDPR compliant, even classifying this data according to user preference, before presenting results via the Squirro GDPR dashboard.

Plug and Play selects HiNounou to join InsurTech Batch 1 in Singapore and China
HiNounou has been successfully selected by Plug and Play and their insurance partners to join the insurTech acceleration batches in Singapore and China, while also working closely with PnP's partner corporations in Germany. After intense competitions with some of the best insurTech startups from around the globe, HiNounou won this prestigious placement in two of PnP's batches, in Singapore and Beijing. We plan to develop business cooperation with insurance giants over 3 months and eventually deliver a POC. Apart from our great traction in the APAC region, we are also working with PnP’s corporate partners in Germany.
